Affiliate disclosure
We earn a commission on some links and nothing at all on others. Both are labeled, and neither changes a ranking.
The short version
Ember & Insert earns a commission when you buy through our links, at no extra cost to you. We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, using the tracking tag emberandinsert-20. Commission never affects which units we recommend or how we rank them — and every roundup names one we think you should skip.
How the links work
Every buy button on this site goes through a redirect on our own domain before sending you to the retailer. That lets us swap a destination if a product is discontinued or if we join a different program, without rewriting the article around it. Nothing about it changes what you pay.
- Every commercial link is marked `rel="sponsored nofollow"` in the page source, per Google's link-spam policy.
- Every buy button carries an `#ad` label and a link back to this page, including the buttons that earn us nothing.
- Every commercial page carries a disclosure above its first buy button, not only here.
- You pay the retailer's normal price. An affiliate link never adds anything to your total.

We have not joined any Commission Junction or Awin programs. That is the normal state for a publisher this new, and it means every earning link on this site today is an Amazon link. If that changes, this page changes with it.
What commission does not buy
- Placement. No unit has ever appeared here because someone paid for it to.
- Ranking. Where a lower-commission retailer is the better option for the reader, that is the one we put first.
- A softer verdict. Every roundup names a skip-pick, and several of the skips are products we would earn on.
- Silence about problems. The one 1,400 W unit in our catalog is flagged as short of the class ceiling on five separate pages, and it is a product we would earn commission on.
Prices
Prices come only from a live retailer data layer, and where there is no live price the button says "Check price" rather than showing a number. We do not print a remembered or estimated price anywhere on this site, and we do not publish price data in structured markup that we cannot verify live.
Prices change constantly and any figure on a page is a snapshot. The retailer's own page is always the authority on what you will pay.
Ratings and reviews
Where a star rating appears on this site it is the product's rating on the retailer's own platform, shown from live data and attributed to that retailer. It is never a rating of ours. We do not publish testimonials, and we do not publish review or aggregate-rating structured data of our own — because we have not tested these units, which is stated plainly on how we pick.
The formal statement
